Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Joe started traditional Irish dancing with the Richens-Timm Academy. Within a couple of years he was winning age-group titles at the US Midwestern Regional and US National Irish Dancing Championships. Joe progressed to competing at the World Championship level, consistently ranked in the top five.
Joe joined Riverdance in 1997, at 16 years old, and was asked to train for the lead position shortly after.
Joe is to date, the youngest male ever to be given this position, at eighteen years old. He is the second North American dancer to dance the lead role in the the show’s history.
Joe has been touring with Riverdance for 12 years, and his career highlights include starring on Broadway, preforming in the People’s Hall of China and the Kremlin State Palace, as well as performances for the Empress of Japan and the President of Ireland.
Joe is looking forward to taking on new endeavors in dancing and reshaping modern Irish dance.
